Day 1: Vilnius. Dinner at amazing Sorena.

Day 2: Vilnius- Gediminas tower, the old town, then out to the TV tower by trolleybus, and a beer in the revolving restaurant. Looking out on an awe-inspiring view of white forests and lakes and falling in love with the frozen landscape. Dinner at an interesting Lithuanian restaurant in the suburbs.

Day 3: And so to Trakai. Cold, cold, cold. Windchill whipping across the lake. Lunch at a Karaite restaurant, on past Karaite houses with 3 windows (one for God, one for the Duke and one for guests) to the castle itself. Evening spent mostly in the htel bar due to being frozen solid.

Day 4: half day in Kaunas, train trip by old Soviet style trains, huge, lumbering things. See earlier entry.
