Kaunas. In a taxi en route to the station. Our driver is just as you’d expect, a hearty Lithuanian guy, chatting away happily about how green the town is in summer and how much he loves watching the Premier League- “Wayne Rooney- 2 goals- boom-boom”. I never knew there were 3 players from Kaunas playing…
Lithuania- a short review
(followed by a few longer snippets about my trip). Eating: “Sorena”– a wonderful Azerbajani restaurant. Salmon slowly grilled over charcoal, lavash and fresh walnut and coriander dip- so so good.Drinking: tea at “Skonis ir Kvapas”. 40 types of tea, freshly ground coffee (I didn’t count but about 20 kinds), 3 cosy rooms with vaulted ceilings….
