September is a great time to travel in Europe. I love the autumn colours and the crowds have thinned out enough to make wandering through a new city enjoyable again. This month I’m off to Tuscany for four days to celebrate my birthday with delicious ice-cream, a stay in a spa town and visits to Florence, Lucca and maybe Siena.
It’s also the time I start wondering about trips for next year. There’s still a few travel dreams which are high on my list; the Silk Road, Borobudur in Indonesia, maybe SE Asia. Guatemala really intrigues me after nearly visiting this year – volcanoes and Mayan temples in the jungle sound right up my street.
