Capture the Colour 2013

The Capture the Colour contest, run by Travel Supermarket, is running again this summer. Last year I used it to highlight some scenes from a trip to Bahia in Brazil. This time I thought I’d broaden it out a bit. Click on the photos to enlarge.

Green
Green lizard, Guayaquil

I could have chosen a landscape, but this sculpture in Guayaquil, Ecuador caught my eye. (It’s inside the courtyard of a hotel).

Yellow
Angels

Christmas in New York – Angels at the Rockefeller Center.

Red
Red tuktuk

I like this photo because it reminds me of something that made me smile in Sri Lanka – along this country road we saw at least half a dozen roadside stalls selling beach toys, at least 70 miles from the beach. I snapped this when we stopped for lunch one day.

White

Yellow Buddha

Towering Buddha on top of a temple in Aluthgama, Sri Lanka.

Blue

Blue Sete

Blue sky, blue sea… ok, this one may be a cliché, but I still like it and I love this part of the world. Taken in Sète, southern France.

As part of the competition we have to nominate five other travel bloggers to Capture the Colour.

So, in no particular order, my nominations are:

Flora the Explorer
The Travel Chica
D Travels Round
Wild Junket
Hecktic Travels

Good luck to everyone taking part :)

really nice captures and colorful compositions, I think my favorite would have to be the white because of the color and angle

I’m inviting you to join us for Travel Photo Mondays, the link runs all week so I hope you can join us for the next installment?
