Zanzibar and a quick favour to ask… (reader poll + giveaway)

Zanzibar is one of those places I’d heard of but couldn’t exactly point to on a map. I knew it was off the east coast of Africa, but that was about it. But when a flight deal came up with Rwandair on their newly launched service via Kigali out of Gatwick, it didn’t take long to book the flight. So we are off to Zanzibar for nine days next week, staying in Stone Town and on the east coast.

I’m really looking forward to discovering Stone Town with its mix of African and Arab influences, plus spotting some monkeys and giant tortoises. Intrigues to find out what else Zanzibar has to offer!

I also have a quick favour to ask. As part of a storytelling course I recently signed up for with the excellent Mike from Fevered Mutterings, I’m taking a closer look at what works and what doesn’t on my site.

What would you like to see more of? Do you come here for info posts or travel stories? Is the balance about right?

Please leave a comment or take this quick SurveyMonkey poll. As a thank you I’ll pick one person at random to receive a small souvenir from my Zanzibar trip :)

  1. I don’t know anything about Zanzibar to be honest so I’d love to read more about the city and Africa in general!
